Job Requirements

  • high school diploma
  • minimum of three years restaurant or senior living cooking experience
  • flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to supervise and train kitchen staff

Job Duties

  • assist in the overall coordination of food preparation and presentation
  • forecast labor and supplies following the food and beverage budget
  • interview, train, schedule and supervise kitchen staff
  • ensure sanitary handling, preparation and proper storage of food
  • assist with receiving and storage of food and nonfood supplies
  • maintain community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and operational organization
  • adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards
  • produce and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
  • exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency
  • oversee work assignments for kitchen personnel
  • assist in preparation of daily production sheets and forecast supply needs
  • plan food production to coordinate with meal service hours
  • demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production
  • assist with serving meals and ware washing as necessary
  • evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature and appearance by visiting residents
  • represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
  • support a culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy
