Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in professional busy kitchen
  • 2 years food service management experience
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Ability to work non-standard and variable work week aligning with St. Louis Cardinals home game schedule
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Physically able to stand for several hours, lift up to 45 pounds, and withstand high temperatures
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Confidence in working under pressure
  • Spanish language fluency preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in professional busy kitchen
  • 2 years food service management experience
  • Previous experience in volume cooking preferred
  • Strong experience with authentic Latin cuisines including Dominican, Cuban, Puerto Rican
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Working knowledge of baseball
  • Working knowledge of culinary nutrition with ability to adjust recipes for athletes
  • Experience managing food, supply orders, and inventory
  • Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment and advanced knife skills
  • Strong creativity and desire to learn
  • Confidence working with clients with food sensitivities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prepare creative, simple, healthy, performance-oriented menu items
  • Ability to collaborate with other cooks and chefs
  • Physically able to meet demands of the role, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 45 pounds
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen
  • Spanish language fluency a plus

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef with overall kitchen operation management
  • Exhibit culinary talents by performing tasks and leading staff
  • Supervise all kitchen areas ensuring consistent high-quality food production
  • Organize and prepare food for up to 60-100 people per meal period
  • Manage snack, beverage, and recovery stations in the clubhouse
  • Supervise and train hourly food service associates, including counseling and performance assessment
  • Support planning and organization of all road catering meals
  • Mentor kitchen staff and encourage a life-long learning attitude
  • Communicate daily production goals via stand-up meetings and production sheets
  • Maintain a well-organized kitchen reflecting highest standards
  • Assist in menu production including tastings and meal checks
  • Assist in menu composition and product sourcing
  • Maintain a customer-first attitude with open kitchen visibility and client relationships
  • Keep a solutions-minded approach
  • Maintain systems such as cleaning schedules, maintenance, and checklists
  • Participate in weekly budgeting related to cost of goods sold
  • Incorporate dishes supporting athletic nutrition needs
  • Exhibit excellent organizational, management, and communication skills
  • Display patience, compassion, and problem-solving mentality
