Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience
- Minimum 4 years of institutional cooking experience
- ServSafe Manager's certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Ability to perform professional chef duties
- Ability to work over 40-hour weeks with irregular hours
- Physical ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and electronically
- Ability to respond to emergencies
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- More than 4 years' experience in institutional cooking
- ServSafe Manager's certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- Experience managing staff and food service operations
- Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
Job Duties
- Prepare and provide healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for various YMCA of the Pines programs
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen staff
- Train and supervise full and part-time staff including international support staff
- Manage risk and complete incident reports within 24 hours
- Ensure sanitation compliance in all food service areas
- Develop and maintain strong public relations and customer service
- Review and manage annual budget and control expenses
- Prepare for ACA and health board inspections
- Ensure compliance with ACA, state, local and federal food service standards
- Support fundraising activities and grant applications
- Execute service of appealing and nutritious meals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining halls, kitchens, and food service equipment
