Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years high volume cooking experience
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Passion for culinary excellence and mentoring others

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certification from a culinary institute or Associate degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years high volume cooking experience in a hotel, restaurant, senior living community, or similar institution
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in a culinary setting
  • Proven ability to manage a kitchen budget
  • Strong menu design and recipe development skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Acts as the Executive Chef's second in command ensuring that staff is following all policies and procedures and that the product leaving the kitchen is of top quality
  • Assists with menu planning, recipe creation, and standardization
  • Schedules daily kitchen production and food preparation for on-time service of meals
  • Manages kitchen operations to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
  • Cultivates and mentors culinary associates and emerging talent
  • Oversees budget creation and cost control related to kitchen expenses
  • Reinvents and improves culinary processes to enhance service and quality
