Job Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for entire shift
  • Must be able to work in loud environment
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, twist, crouch, squat, and lift
  • Must be able to listen and respond to visual and aural cues
  • Must be able to operate within confined spaces and perform repetitive motions
  • ServSafe certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year experience working as a line or lead line cook in a casual dining or similar style restaurant
  • Thorough knowledge of hot and cold food preparation and proper storage
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to train and mentor junior kitchen staff

Job Duties

  • Work on the line and in the kitchen as directed by management
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism
  • Prep food for service in accordance with health department codes
  • Ensure each dish meets established standards before leaving the kitchen
  • Multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Properly store, label, and rotate food items
  • Assist with daily inventory and provide guidance on prep and pars
  • Help put away food shipments
  • Adhere to all departmental, health, and safety standards
  • Ensure efficient delivery and proper meal presentation
  • Stock or direct staff to stock replenishments
  • Prep bulk items with consistency and quality
  • Maintain cleanliness and personal hygiene per regulations
  • Be available to cover shifts during staff shortages
  • Assist with prep work, dishwashing, stocking, and kitchen cleaning
  • Train new employees focusing on consistency and quality
  • Resolve complaints and service deficiencies
  • Maintain proper staffing levels based on business needs
  • Provide guidance and leadership to kitchen staff
  • Communicate work-related issues to management
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Keep strict confidentiality regarding company operations
  • Have thorough knowledge of food preparation and storage
  • Supervise and delegate tasks fairly and effectively
