Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least six months of cooking experience in a restaurant or similar environment preferred
  • Ability to safely operate cooking equipment
  • Proficient in computer and office equipment
  • Ability to work with seniors especially those with cognitive impairments
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Must pass background checks and health screenings
  • Willingness to comply with COVID-19 safety protocols including vaccination and PPE use

Job Qualifications

  • Must be eighteen years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • College courses or education in food service or management preferred
  • Prefer six months experience in restaurant or similar environment as a cook
  • Able to safely operate standard cooking equipment and utensils
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Able to operate standard office equipment
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn assisted living and dementia care
  • Able to work with seniors and cognitively impaired individuals
  • Able to adapt and respond to change, prioritize tasks, and make decisions under stress
  • Ability to follow written or oral instructions
  • Must pass criminal background and health screening including physical and TB tests

Job Duties

  • Ensure dining experience quality including menu selection, meal preparation, presentation, and service
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of meals and special events
  • Prepare and serve food in accordance with sanitary regulations and property policies
  • Develop and implement culinary procedures to ensure timely meal service and proper temperatures
  • Maintain menu plan adherence and assist in evaluating food quality and quantity
  • Control meal portions and food consistency to minimize waste
  • Act as Department Manager in absence of Culinary Services Director, overseeing staffing and supervision
  • Assist in purchasing, inventory, and storage of food and supplies
  • Maintain sanitary work environment and compliance with local codes
  • Organize and inspect food storage areas for cleanliness and supply management
  • Order food within budget and train staff on correct receiving procedures
  • Engage with residents to tailor culinary services to their preferences
