Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Current and approved sanitation certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Safe food handling certification
- Minimum three years lead experience as Sous Chef or equivalent
- Five plus years managing high-volume commercial kitchens
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Willingness to work in a kitchen environment with exposure to temperature changes and potential hazards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary arts degree preferred
- Current sanitation certification or obtain within 6 months
- Safe food handling certification
- Minimum three years lead experience as Sous Chef or equivalent
- Five plus years managing high-volume commercial kitchens
- Experience in fine dining and culinary leadership roles preferred
- Proficiency in multiple cooking stations and methods
- Advanced knife skills
- Skilled in inventory ordering and waste management
- Proficient in recipe production
- Organized and proficient in time management
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Oversee daily culinary operations and supervise production of daily specials
- Delegate tasks and assist on the line during peak service times
- Assist Executive Chef with menu development, ordering, inventory, and food preparation
- Ensure high quality food items are creatively prepared and presented
- Monitor holding, storage, and sanitation standards
- Manage kitchen cost controls and procurement of supplies
- Act as liaison between Executive Chef and back of house staff
- Conduct pre and post shift walkthroughs to ensure compliance
- Enforce food safety policies and procedures
- Maintain kitchen compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide safety-related training and maintain equipment
- Report hazardous conditions and accidents promptly
- Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food and supplies
- Attend required in-service trainings
