Job Requirements

  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Advanced knife skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Physical capability to stand and walk for 8 hours, carry up to 30 lbs, and perform repetitive motions
  • Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to comply with foodservice health and safety regulations
  • Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Job Qualifications

  • Associates degree in culinary arts or equivalent professional cooking experience
  • Minimum 3 years relevant cooking experience in high volume restaurants
  • At least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef, or kitchen manager
  • Possession of required food certifications
  • Advanced knife skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficient in English communication, both oral and written
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff

Job Duties

  • Assume responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Direct and coordinate kitchen staff engaged in food preparation and cooking
  • Prepare meats, fish, produce, and daily dishes such as sauces and soups
  • Manage cost control, labor, and sanitation practices
  • Ensure compliance with health department regulations and safety policies
  • Train, supervise and give direction to kitchen staff
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and food ordering
  • Monitor kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Conduct food inventory counts and manage product labeling and rotation
