Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Four years of relevant culinary or food service experience
- Or two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field with two years experience
- Proven leadership skills in a kitchen environment
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Capability to manage multiple kitchen operations efficiently
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Four years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Or a two-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with two years of relevant experience
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Experience in leading kitchen operations and managing food production
- Ability to train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff
- Proficient in labor management systems and scheduling
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to exceptional customer service and hospitality values
- Ability to handle guest complaints and provide satisfactory resolutions
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Job Duties
- Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all food and beverage policies, standards, and procedures
- Estimate daily production needs and communicate requirements to kitchen staff
- Assist Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
- Prepare and cook a variety of foods regularly and for special functions
- Develop new culinary applications, designs, and food presentations
- Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation regulations
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers
- Lead kitchen shifts while preparing food items and fulfilling specific requests
- Foster teamwork, trust, and cooperation among kitchen personnel
- Enforce property policies and communicate performance expectations
- Provide exceptional customer service and handle guest feedback
- Manage labor scheduling and employee time tracking
- Train employees in safety procedures
- Coach and mentor staff for improved knowledge and performance
- Participate in the employee performance appraisal process
- Attend relevant meetings and communicate effectively within the department
- Analyze information and solve operational problems.
