Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years of relevant culinary or food service experience
- or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related field
- 2 years of professional culinary experience
- Ability to comply with all food safety and sanitation laws and standards
- Capable of supervising kitchen staff and managing kitchen operations
- Ability to work flexible hours and handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities
- Effective communication skills in English
- Committed to providing excellent customer service
- Familiarity with labor management systems and scheduling
- Physical ability to perform required kitchen tasks
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related field
- 2 years of experience in culinary or related professional area
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and kitchen operations
- Ability to manage and develop a team
- Customer service orientation
- Proficient in using labor management and scheduling systems
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Manages kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with food and beverage policies and standards
- Estimates daily production needs and communicates with kitchen personnel
- Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations and food preparation
- Prepares and cooks various food items including special functions
- Develops new culinary applications and food presentations
- Maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards
- Ensures compliance with food handling, sanitation, and safety standards
- Supervises and coordinates activities of kitchen staff
- Leads by example in food preparation and staff management
- Encourages teamwork and fosters trust, cooperation, and respect among employees
- Manages guest relations by providing exceptional customer service and handling complaints
- Utilizes labor management systems for scheduling and attendance
- Coaches and mentors staff for skill development and performance improvement
- Participates in employee performance appraisals
- Communicates effectively with team members and management
- Analyzes operations to solve problems and improve processes
