Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Supervisory experience in food production
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks

Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional culinary training
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a professional kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Experience with menu planning and food cost control
- Ability to train and mentor kitchen staff
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Familiarity with banquet and event food service
- Leadership skills and ability to enforce standards
- Proficiency in kitchen equipment and maintenance procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare or directly supervise kitchen staff responsible for the daily preparation of food for all à la carte, banquet, and club events
- Assist the Executive Chef with pricing, cost controls, requisitioning of foods needed for production
- Assume complete control of kitchen in absence of Executive Chef and Banquet Chef
- Assist the Executive Chef with supervision and training of employees, sanitation and safety, menu planning, creating specials and related production activities
- Constantly maintain standards of quality, cost, eye appeal and taste of food
- Fill out daily shift compliance report to track and report day's accomplishments and activities
- Ensure proper staffing for maximum productivity and high standards of quality
- Control food and payroll cost to achieve maximum profitability
- Make recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the kitchen and its equipment
- Work in any station as assigned by the Executive Chefs
- Help plan energy conservation procedures in the kitchen
- Assist in the development of training and providing opportunities for all kitchen staff
- Consult with dining and banquet service staff during daily line ups
- Assist in maintaining security of kitchen including equipment, food and supply inventories
- Coordinate buffet presentations
- Supervise, train, and evaluate kitchen staff
- Have direct input and work with staff scheduling
- Involved in interviewing, hiring, disciplinary and any termination processes with staff
- Check mis en place before service time and inspect presentation of food items to ensure that quality standards are met
- Report all member/guest complaints to the Chef and assist in resolving complaints
- Monitor kitchen employees to ensure compliance with posted schedules
- Submit ideas for future goals, operational improvements, and personnel management to Executive Chef
- Provide leadership by example, displayed in work and attitude
- Adhere to the Culinarians Code as a professional standard
