Job Requirements

  • ability to operate kitchen appliances safely
  • outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • satisfactory physical and mental health
  • ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
  • capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and exerting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to work weekdays, weekends and holidays
  • capable of multitasking and effective communication

Job Qualifications

  • associates degree in culinary arts or 3 years relevant cooking experience
  • at least 1 year experience as sous chef, chef, or kitchen manager
  • advanced knife skills
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • food protection manager certification
  • effective leadership and communication skills
  • commitment to hospitality and service excellence
  • computer skills including reporting and cost tracking
  • good interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • direct and coordinate workers in preparing and cooking food
  • cook and portion meats, fish, and produce
  • prepare daily dishes such as sauces and soups
  • manage labor and sanitation practices
  • enforce health department regulations
  • train and supervise kitchen staff
  • assist in food ordering and inventory counts
  • monitor kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
