Job Qualifications

  • Experience working within the hospitality or service industry in a similar capacity for at least 2 years
  • Passion for city culture, travelling and trending food and drinks concepts
  • Knowledge of contemporary interests and the city
  • Genuine interest and enthusiasm for service
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Leadership qualities
  • Understanding of stock-control and cost management

Job Duties

  • Support the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations
  • Take full control of the kitchen at both Generator and Freehand Hotels and carry out all responsibilities
  • Help to maintain highest possible standard of food and help create ways of developing new concepts to maintain growth of business
  • Understand departmental forecasts and the importance of their contribution to the business success
  • Assist with menu compilation, costing, team building and rota compilation
  • Monitor stock and assist the Head Chef with stock control and ordering
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and properly maintained
  • Ensure all aspects of health, safety, hygiene, welfare, guest safety, fire regulations, emergency procedures are adhered to within the kitchen department
  • Maintain a working relationship with all staff, encourage and support colleagues, keep team briefed at all times
  • Lead and motivate staff to encourage maximum commitment and a flexible approach
  • Be flexible and assist in other areas of the kitchen if needed at short notice
