Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Familiarity with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a sous chef or similar role in a hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of dietary restrictions and senior nutrition requirements
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise cooks and kitchen staff during prep, production, and service
  • expedite service during peak meal periods, ensuring accuracy, plating standards, and timeliness
  • monitor food quality and consistency across all stations
  • assist in recipe execution, menu adherence, and portion control
  • support daily prep lists and kitchen organization to ensure smooth service
  • maintain high standards of kitchen sanitation, safety, and compliance with DOH regulations
  • communicate effectively with the culinary director and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service
