Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 3 years culinary experience in a professional kitchen
- leadership experience in a culinary setting
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong attention to detail and quality
- physical stamina to endure long hours on feet
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a sous chef or in a similar culinary leadership role
- strong knowledge of food preparation and plating techniques
- ability to manage and motivate a kitchen team
- understanding of nutrition and dietary needs in senior living populations
- excellent organizational and communication skills
- familiarity with health and safety regulations in commercial kitchens
Job Duties
- Lead and supervise cooks and kitchen staff during prep, production, and service
- expedite service during peak meal periods, ensuring accuracy, plating standards, and timeliness
- monitor food quality and consistency across all stations
- assist in recipe execution, menu adherence, and portion control
- support daily prep lists and kitchen organization to ensure smooth service
- maintain high standards of kitchen sanitation, safety, and compliance with DOH regulations
- communicate effectively with the culinary director and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service
