Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Physical ability to lift approximately 20 to 30 pounds, bend, stoop and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to work in environments with wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise
  • Capable of standing and walking for significant amounts of time
  • Must be able to manage diverse duties and long hours

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse constituency
  • Operational experience with industrial kitchen equipment
  • Experience with food service applications and computerized menu management systems

Job Duties

  • Manage all aspects of food production and special events preparation
  • Ensure preparation and presentation of high quality food according to established menus
  • Monitor menu and inventory management systems including cost control and loss prevention
  • Plan and manage simple catered indoor and outdoor events
  • Assist in managing the annual operational budget including food and labor cost goals
  • Prepare and maintain reports to improve processes and comply with university standards
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and physical spaces are operational and well maintained
  • Ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, and legal regulations
