Job Duties
- consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
- oversee daily operations of the kitchen department including banquets, outlets, in room dining, staff cafeteria and stewarding
- role model service promises and ensure focus on delivery of service essentials
- maintain food and beverage standards through standardized recipes and safe food handling
- optimize profitability through inventory monitoring, food cost controls and promotional initiatives
- use labor management tools to set staffing levels and productivity targets
- prepare weekly schedules and provide hands on support
- maintain staffing levels through proactive recruiting
- participate in weekly operational meetings including banquet event review
- ensure compliance with hotel operating controls and seek innovative improvements
- oversee menu creation for staff restaurant
- promote teamwork within kitchen and maintain strong relationships with other departments
- participate in media and community events to promote the hotel
- ensure compliance with hygiene and safety laws
- respond personally to food-related feedback
- maintain kitchen equipment in good working order
