  • minimum culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • proven experience in managing kitchen operations in a hospitality setting
  • strong leadership and team management skills

Job Duties

  • consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • oversee daily operations of the kitchen department including banquets, outlets, in room dining, staff cafeteria and stewarding
  • role model service promises and ensure focus on delivery of service essentials
  • maintain food and beverage standards through standardized recipes and safe food handling
  • optimize profitability through inventory monitoring, food cost controls and promotional initiatives
  • use labor management tools to set staffing levels and productivity targets
  • prepare weekly schedules and provide hands on support
  • maintain staffing levels through proactive recruiting
  • participate in weekly operational meetings including banquet event review
  • ensure compliance with hotel operating controls and seek innovative improvements
  • oversee menu creation for staff restaurant
  • promote teamwork within kitchen and maintain strong relationships with other departments
  • participate in media and community events to promote the hotel
  • ensure compliance with hygiene and safety laws
  • respond personally to food-related feedback
  • maintain kitchen equipment in good working order
