Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years experience in culinary or kitchen management roles
- Two years of supervisory and team leadership experience
- Food Services Sanitation certification
- ServeSafe certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
- Compliance with drug testing and health screening requirements
- Commitment to safety and regulatory adherence
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and delegate tasks effectively
Job Qualifications
- Certification or college degree in culinary arts preferred
- Minimum three years experience as a Chef or Kitchen Manager
- At least two years supervisory and management experience including hiring, coaching, performance management, discipline, and counseling
- Current Food Services Sanitation certificate, ServeSafe certified
- Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Office and Sunrise applications
- Ability to review and understand driver job description if applicable
- Flexible availability including weekends and evenings
Job Duties
- Lead overall food production, food presentation, and supervision of dining services team members and labor management
- Demonstrate knowledge and provide leadership in nutrition and therapeutic diets
- Support adherence to product order guide and vendor programs
- Ensure meals and portions comply with quality service standards
- Provide methods to measure and control food cost and portion sizes
- Facilitate training on food production, presentation, and sanitation
- Monitor and evaluate food quality, cooking methods, plating, garnishing, and service delivery for peak performance
- Ensure HACCP standards are implemented and maintained
- Oversee special events food production with focus on marketing
- Assist in management of Bistro, Banquets, catering, and other dining venues
- Review records on food temperature and equipment for compliance
- Ensure completion and filing of cleaning checklists and side-work per policy
- Maintain food rotation (FIFO) and security protocols
- Keep production sheets, HACCP, and Chef Daily Assistant Log updated
- Promote customer engagement and interact with residents to monitor satisfaction
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Ensure community compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
- Practice and enforce safety procedures including PPE usage and food handling safety
- Monitor work areas for health and safety
- Present and value Sunrise products and services to residents and referral sources
- Understand and manage department budgets including labor and expenses
- Coordinate cross-training and staffing efficiencies
- Participate in Sunrise University training programs
- Coach and supervise team members ensuring compliance with regulations
- Lead team engagement improvement initiatives
- Maintain all required training
- Perform other duties as assigned
