Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • College degree in culinary or food sciences preferred
  • Two years previous food and beverage and supervisory experience preferred, especially in a hotel
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Food Service Sanitation certification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills

  • Thorough knowledge of food and beverage outlet operations including foods, beverages, supervisory aspects, service techniques and guest interaction

  • Food Service Sanitation certification
  • CPR certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Direct the day to day operations of all areas of the kitchen including stewarding
  • Assign specific duties to all employees under supervision for efficient operation of kitchen
  • Select, train and supervise kitchen staff in the proper preparation of menu items
  • Schedule culinary staff to maintain proper coverage while controlling payroll costs
  • Assist in planning and managing procurement, production, preparation and presentation of all food
  • Prepare food according to specifications and work line stations as needed
  • Monitor and control maintenance and sanitation of kitchen and equipment to ensure a safe work environment
  • Assist in implementation of menus and backup procedures to improve revenues and profit margins
  • Ensure par stock levels are maintained by calculating inventory, ordering and stocking supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
