Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years high school education
  • one year of Sous Chef experience in a similar industry or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • functional proficiency in Mandarin
  • food safety training from an ANSI approved provider
  • food handler certification or equivalent

Job Duties

  • Manage overall quality and taste of dim sum fillings and production
  • assist the Head Chef in setting the roster and daily workflow
  • relieve the Head Chef, other Sous Chefs, and Line Cooks when off duty
  • ensure daily food ordering and replenishment of supplies
  • conduct daily food testing and tasting
  • maintain inventory adequate for operations
  • ensure cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and equipment
  • ensure kitchen stations operate smoothly and productively
  • train or support training of new Sous Chefs
  • assist in restaurant operations such as wastage recording, inventory, and temperature readings
