Job Qualifications

  • Experience working within the hospitality/service industry in a similar capacity for at least 2 years

  • creativity and innovation in culinary arts

Job Duties

  • Support the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of kitchen operations
  • take full control of the kitchen in Head Chef's absence and carry out all responsibilities
  • help maintain highest possible standard of food and create ways to develop new concepts for business growth
  • understand departmental forecasts and importance of their contribution to business success
  • assist with menu compilation, costing, team building and rota compilation
  • monitor stock and assist Head Chef with stock control and ordering
  • ensure all equipment is functional and properly maintained
  • ensure adherence to health, safety, hygiene, welfare, guest safety, fire regulations, emergency procedures within kitchen
  • maintain positive working relationships with staff, encourage and support colleagues, keep team briefed
  • lead and motivate staff to obtain maximum commitment and encourage flexible approach
  • be flexible and assist in other kitchen areas as needed at short notice
