Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience in kitchen leadership role
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
  • Serve Safe food handler’s certificate required
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Proficient English communication skills
  • Valid work authorization
  • Ability to travel to various locations for meetings and training
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years experience in kitchen leadership in a high volume environment
  • Culinary school graduate or related training preferred
  • Working knowledge of health department, OSHA, and related regulations
  • Strong multitasking and delegation skills
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet budgets including labor and food costs
  • Skilled in training and developing staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in English and computer literacy

Job Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen production areas alongside the executive chef
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise multiple shifts of kitchen staff
  • Teach and adhere to City Winery philosophy and commitment to food quality
  • Monitor production procedures for consistency and efficiency
  • Supervise kitchen management to ensure standard operating procedures are followed
  • Lead by example enforcing company policies and procedures
  • Train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation
  • Establish and resolve kitchen operation goals and problems
  • Execute culinary projects and initiatives
  • Develop production methodologies to increase efficiency and quality
  • Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are maintained
  • Inspect kitchen equipment for cleanliness and safety
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training
  • Collaborate with internal divisions to achieve company goals
  • Support culinary elements of specialty events
  • Perform tasks assigned by management
  • Monitor quality, quantity, and consistency of food products
  • Develop standard recipes and portion control measures
  • Determine food presentation and decorative displays
  • Ensure adherence to health regulations
  • Foster positive work environment and morale
  • Participate in hiring, training, and staff management
  • Recommend disciplinary actions as needed
  • Provide ongoing feedback and conduct performance evaluations
  • Train and motivate culinary staff
  • Conduct routine kitchen staff meetings
  • Demonstrate and train safe operating procedures
  • Manage food cost, labor cost, and payroll expenses
  • Approve production schedules and administrative duties by supervisors
