Job Requirements

  • three to five years proven experience as a cook or 1+ years as a sous chef
  • knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, boiling, etc., equipment and procedures
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues
  • high school diploma or ged required, training from a culinary school preferred
  • ability to speak, read and write english
  • must be willing to undergo a routine background check

Job Duties

  • work with the executive chef or director of dining services to produce diversified menus in accordance with the community's policy and vision
  • establish the work schedule and organize work in the kitchen so that all tasks are accomplished efficiently and with excellence
  • produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and standards
  • train the kitchen staff to achieve the best for the nutrition and enjoyment of our residents
  • prepares or assists in preparation of complete meals - preparing and cooking soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods, etc. in accordance with menus and recipes
  • monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
