Job Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts
- Food safety and manager certification
- Expertise in food product, presentation, quality, and preparation
- Knowledge of menu concept and design
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write reports, purchase orders, menus, and correspondence
- Effective communication skills for addressing groups of customers or employees
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle situations with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Job Duties
- Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests
- Demonstrate, prepare, and execute menu items according to agreed specifications
- Conduct ongoing training and communicate food quality standards to staff
- Participate in service education through daily line-ups, quarterly menu meetings, and new server training programs
- Train kitchen staff to produce meals promptly with a goal to execute all tickets in twenty minutes or less
- Meet financial targets while maintaining food quality and service objectives
- Maintain high level of cleanliness in kitchen facilities and supervise daily cleaning tasks
- Assist General Manager in supervising kitchen employees, including hiring, training, appraising, and disciplining staff
- Address complaints and resolve problems among kitchen personnel
