Job Qualifications

  • Degree in culinary arts
  • Food safety and manager certification
  • Expertise in food product, presentation, quality, and preparation
  • Knowledge of menu concept and design
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports, purchase orders, menus, and correspondence
  • Effective communication skills for addressing groups of customers or employees
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic and ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle situations with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to guests
  • Demonstrate, prepare, and execute menu items according to agreed specifications
  • Conduct ongoing training and communicate food quality standards to staff
  • Participate in service education through daily line-ups, quarterly menu meetings, and new server training programs
  • Train kitchen staff to produce meals promptly with a goal to execute all tickets in twenty minutes or less
  • Meet financial targets while maintaining food quality and service objectives
  • Maintain high level of cleanliness in kitchen facilities and supervise daily cleaning tasks
  • Assist General Manager in supervising kitchen employees, including hiring, training, appraising, and disciplining staff
  • Address complaints and resolve problems among kitchen personnel
