Job Requirements

  • must possess or be able to obtain food handlers' card
  • must possess or be able to obtain a food safety management certification
  • ability to follow recipes and cooking procedures
  • ability to communicate effectively with wait staff and residents
  • willingness to learn new cooking techniques
  • dependability and punctuality
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
  • compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • possess or be able to obtain food handlers' card
  • possess or be able to obtain food safety management certification
  • ability to follow recipes and cooking procedures
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work in a team environment
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • follow recipes consistently and make adjustments based on customer requests
  • communicate with wait staff and prepare garnishes for attractive presentation of each meal
  • ensure resident special diets are offered and prepared
  • demonstrate willingness to learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • occasionally serve food
  • execute opening and closing procedures
  • operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
  • work effectively with a team and display team behaviors
  • deal effectively with conflict or resident complaints
  • focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures
  • comply with community quality standards and requirements
  • maintain dependability, punctuality and work self-motivated without constant supervision
