Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience in a similar culinary role
- ServSafe certification
- Choke Safety certification
- Allergen Awareness certification
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift items up to 40 pounds
- Manual dexterity and good auditory and visual skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Experience managing food production and staff
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience in similar role
- Culinary school certificate or degree preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
- ServSafe certification required
- Choke Safety certification required
- Allergen Awareness certification required
Job Duties
- Assist with menu writing and cycle of cost control utilizing appropriate recipes and costing measures
- Ensure quality of all food products, preparation, and final presentation
- Support culinary team in all aspects of food production, execution and presentation
- Assist with oversight of catering operations
- Maintain vendor relationships
- Inspect supplies, equipment, or work areas for compliance with standards
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques or equipment to staff
- Communicate with supervisor regarding equipment purchases or repairs
- Assist with purchasing of food and supplies while ensuring quality control
- Determine production schedules and staff requirements
- Maintain company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, uniforms, and productivity
- Compile and record production or operational data
- Manage department controllable expenses including food costs, labor, supplies, uniforms, and equipment
- Assist with budgetary processes
- Analyze recipes to assign prices to menu items
- Conduct inventory management
- Assist with staff review process
- Instruct, train and supervise cooks and other workers in food preparation
- Provide excellent customer service including attentiveness, approachability, and greeting customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
