Job Requirements

  • Must possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers Card
  • must possess or be able to obtain Food Safety Management Certification
  • prior culinary experience preferred
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • good communication skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • dependable punctual and self-motivated
  • commitment to safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • Possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers Card
  • possess or be able to obtain Food Safety Management Certification
  • prior experience in a culinary role preferably with knowledge of senior living or healthcare food service
  • ability to follow recipes consistently and make adjustments
  • effective communication skills
  • teamwork and conflict resolution abilities
  • strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operation

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes consistently making adjustments based on customer requests
  • communicate with wait staff and prepare garnishes for attractive meal presentation
  • ensure resident special diets are offered and prepared respecting their choice
  • learn new food preparation techniques and presentation methods
  • occasionally serve food
  • execute opening and closing kitchen procedures
  • operate kitchen equipment such as broilers ovens grills and fryers
  • clean and sanitize work areas equipment and utensils
  • work effectively as part of a team displaying team behaviors
  • effectively manage conflict or resident complaints
  • focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • follow all food safety and equipment safety procedures
  • comply with community quality standards and requirements
  • demonstrate dependability punctuality and self-motivation with ability to work independently
