Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years cooking experience in restaurant or senior living environment
- Current state-required sanitation certification or license
- Ability to maintain calm under pressure
- Effective leadership and delegation skills
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including emergencies
- Ability to use kitchen tools and equipment safely
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with assistance
- Basic computer literacy
- Commitment to follow health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- Ability to speak, read and comprehend English
- Knowledge of menu presentation, food preparation, production, food delivery systems, and utility
- Understanding of local Health Department, OSHA and other relevant regulations
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong inter-departmental communication and teamwork
- Knowledge of preparation and line production communication
- Willingness to be available for emergencies
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- High school diploma
- Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum three years restaurant or senior living cooking experience
- Current state-required sanitation certification or license
Job Duties
- Maintain a level head under pressure and utilize staff to deliver quality food consistently
- Assign specific duties to kitchen team members for efficient kitchen operation
- Ensure deliveries are properly received, dated, rotated, and stored correctly
- Supervise kitchen team members and enforce sanitation and safety standards
- Prepare, portion, and serve food according to standardized recipes
- Assist with setup, service, and cleanup of food production
- Communicate with other departments and staff to ensure successful daily service execution
- Visit residents periodically to evaluate food quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance
- Conduct evaluations and revise operations or procedures to improve food service
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner
- Support a culture that drives top-line revenue and occupancy
- Adapt to constantly changing environments
- Attend training workshops and assist the Culinary Services team as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and observe all community policies
- Perform incidental housekeeping and maintenance tasks
- Carry out related duties professionally and timely
