Job Qualifications
- Two years of kitchen or culinary management experience in a full-service, upscale restaurant
- strong leadership and team coaching skills
- ability to maintain high food quality and consistency
- experience with inventory management and vendor relations
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- capability to train and motivate team members
- ability to work under pressure and meet operational goals
- proficiency in following established recipes and procedures
Job Duties
- Maintain food quality standards for the restaurant
- assist Executive Chef in overseeing food procurement, production, and service processes including inventory, ordering, storage, recipe adherence, and presentation
- fill in for the Executive Chef as needed in planning and directing food preparation
- provide clear feedback to kitchen staff and management
- conduct daily pre-service meetings
- provide immediate feedback on food quality and presentation
- ensure target ticket times are met while maintaining food quality
- maintain kitchen equipment and storage areas in clean and functional condition
- ensure adherence to sanitation, food safety, and storage practices
- assist Executive Chef in meeting sales and profitability goals
- assist with vendor relations and equipment maintenance
- follow recipes and procedures strictly
- complete culinary line and sanitation checks daily
- communicate with leaders, team members, and guests positively
- perform duties of all management positions as needed
- counsel and coach team members regularly
- assist in staff evaluations
- train and develop team members
- ensure a safe and harassment-free workplace
- take responsible action in problem solving and disciplinary matters
- perform other assigned duties as required
