Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- three to five years culinary experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- possession of a valid driver's license and health card
- ability to stand, use hands and arms, talk and hear regularly
- ability to walk, taste, and smell frequently
- ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally
- able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- must have attended cooking school for at least one year
- effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Insure that kitchen staff prepares all food items properly
- ensure the quality and freshness of food being prepared
- assist cooks when necessary with food preparation
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas
- assist the Executive Chef as required
- oversee the kitchen staff
- ensure compliance with food safety regulations
