Job Requirements
- Culinary degree or related training required
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience required
- Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or must be attained within 30 days
- Able to work in a shared workspace with constant noise
- Comfortable managing frequent changing priorities and deadlines
- Capable of working safely in high temperatures and humidity
- Available to work variable schedules exceeding 40 hours per week
- Able to regularly move up to 10lbs and lift up to 50lbs weekly
- Must be able to travel by various means requiring long periods of sitting and standing
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or related training in hospitality or restaurant industry
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Experience working within luxury brand or market preferred
- Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or attainable within 30 days
- Strong strategic business leadership skills
- Ability to build team engagement and loyalty
- Skilled in hosting and facilitating effective meetings
- Proven capability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in implementing and maintaining service standards
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments effectively
- Comfortable working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Ability to understand and work with financial data and basic arithmetic
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients and industry contacts
- Ability to prepare a wide range of culinary offerings
Job Duties
- Maintain a file of recipes including ingredients, portions, and preparation directions
- Assist the Executive Chef in developing menus, recipe cards, and specifications
- Set standards and methods for portion control for each dish
- Ensure that all recipes are followed consistently
- Assume responsibility for the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef
- Monitor daily inventory to ensure proper levels and quality
- Manage food and labor costs within budgeted guidelines
- Arrange staff training on equipment use and cleaning
- Organize kitchen meetings at least once a month
- Participate in performance appraisals and progressive discipline
- Assist the Executive Chef with staff development and coaching
- Attend manager and mandatory meetings
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization
- Complete daily kitchen walkthroughs
- Assist with tracking food costs and monthly inventory
