Job Requirements

  • Prior cooking or food service experience is required
  • ability to work full-time with varying day shifts including weekends
  • must be able to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • must have strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • ability to stand and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment for extended periods
  • must handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • good interpersonal and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior cooking or food service experience

  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • leadership skills to manage kitchen staff and operations
  • good communication and customer service skills
  • ability to work varied schedules including weekends
  • understanding of menu items and portion control
  • basic inventory and supply tracking skills

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food following approved recipes and production standards
  • ensures all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • supervises hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, reviewing, and recommending disciplinary actions
  • stores food properly following corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • maintains sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils and cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving area
  • interacts with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • monitors inventory and deliveries of product and supplies, tracks product production, consumption and waste and informs supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • performs other duties as assigned
  • assumes responsibility for kitchen and food-service associates during absence of Executive Chef
  • demonstrates complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately to staff and customers
  • keeps up with peak production and service hours
  • keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service to comply with safety, sanitation, production and merchandising requirements
