Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of culinary experience in a hospitality environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical kitchen tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years experience in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining preferred
  • Culinary education and supervisory background desirable
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance, nutrition and diet
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Experience in menu development and costing

Job Duties

  • Assist with food orders, production sheets, daily assignments and shift change walk-throughs of kitchen staff
  • Assist in creating, planning, costing and executing menus, theme buffets, specials and holiday menus
  • Ensure that each plate leaving the kitchen meets high presentation standards, is a quality product and is properly portioned
  • Oversee kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
  • Collaborate with dietary staff to accommodate special nutritional needs
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation techniques
  • Manage inventory levels and reduce food waste efficiently
