Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 5 years cooking experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
  • ServSafe certification
  • knowledge of federal, state, and local food and safety regulations
  • ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • flexibility to work full-time hours including every other weekend

Job Qualifications

  • Understand use and maintenance of various kitchen equipment
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
  • excellent record of kitchen and staff management
  • degree in culinary science or related certificate is a plus
  • ServSafe certification
  • 2 to 5 years cooking experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • oversee activities of kitchen staff and monitor food production and presentation
  • monitor and evaluate staff performance
  • train and assist staff in proper procedures and policies
  • ensure opening and closing procedures are completed
  • develop menu and recipes
  • control costs and manage budget
  • schedule staff
