Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 5 years cooking experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
- ServSafe certification
- knowledge of federal, state, and local food and safety regulations
- ability to manage and lead kitchen staff effectively
- strong communication and organizational skills
- flexibility to work full-time hours including every other weekend
Job Qualifications
- Understand use and maintenance of various kitchen equipment
- working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel
- excellent record of kitchen and staff management
- degree in culinary science or related certificate is a plus
- ServSafe certification
- 2 to 5 years cooking experience in long-term care or similar setting preferred
Job Duties
- Provide excellent customer service
- oversee activities of kitchen staff and monitor food production and presentation
- monitor and evaluate staff performance
- train and assist staff in proper procedures and policies
- ensure opening and closing procedures are completed
- develop menu and recipes
- control costs and manage budget
- schedule staff
- exercise strong leadership skills
- oversee ordering and inventory
- ensure compliance with food safety regulations
