Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and dietary guidelines
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • Previous culinary experience preferably in senior living healthcare or hospitality
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
  • Strong knowledge of food safety nutrition and dietary restrictions
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required
  • Passion for providing excellent service and creating meaningful experiences for residents

Job Duties

  • Assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations including meal preparation cooking and plating
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • Collaborate on menu planning incorporating resident preferences and dietary requirements
  • Monitor food inventory place orders and manage stock rotation to minimize waste
  • Uphold regulatory standards and ensure compliance with health safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Step in to lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • Contribute to a welcoming and efficient dining experience that reflects ALG Senior's standards of excellence
