Job Requirements

  • must possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers' Card
  • must possess or be able to obtain a Food Safety Management Certification
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties

  • commitment to food safety and sanitation standards

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • culinary training or certification is advantageous
  • previous experience in a kitchen or food service role preferred
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • knowledge of food safety standards
  • ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • willingness to learn new techniques and work collaboratively

Job Duties

  • follow recipes consistently and make adjustments based on customer requests
  • communicate with wait staff and prepare garnishes for attractive meal presentation
  • ensure resident special diets are offered and prepared respecting resident choices
  • learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • serve food occasionally
  • execute opening and closing kitchen procedures
  • operate kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers
  • clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • work effectively with a team and demonstrate team behaviors
  • manage conflict and resident complaints effectively
  • focus on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • comply with all food safety and equipment safety procedures
  • adhere to community quality standards and requirements
  • maintain punctuality, dependability, self-motivation, and work independently
  • maintain high quality of food preparation and presentation
