Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers' Card
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Food Safety Management Certification
  • Ability to follow recipes consistently
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Dependable, punctual and self-motivated

Job Qualifications

  • Possess or be able to obtain Food Handlers' Card

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to prepare fine dining meals
  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Ensure efficient, timely and friendly service to all residents, staff and guests
  • Assist with meeting or exceeding residents' dining expectations
  • Keep food prep, dining areas and/or dish room areas clean and sanitary
  • Maintain proper sanitation and safety procedures and high quality of food preparation and presentation
  • Follow recipes consistently and make adjustments based on customer requests
  • Communicate with wait staff and prepare garnishes for meal presentation
  • Ensure resident special diets are offered and prepared
  • Learn new food preparation techniques and presentation
  • Occasionally serve food
  • Execute opening and closing procedures
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills and fryers
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
  • Work effectively with a team and display team behaviors
  • Effectively handle conflict or resident complaints
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Follow all food and equipment safety procedures
  • Comply with community quality standards and requirements
  • Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, self-motivation and ability to work independently
