Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous culinary experience in a professional kitchen
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

  • commitment to maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment

Job Qualifications

  • previous culinary experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality
  • proven leadership or supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
  • strong knowledge of food safety, nutrition, and dietary restrictions
  • ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • culinary degree or relevant certification preferred but not required
  • passion for providing excellent service and creating meaningful experiences for residents

Job Duties

  • assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations, including meal preparation, cooking, and plating
  • supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices
  • collaborate on menu planning, incorporating resident preferences and dietary requirements
  • monitor food inventory, place orders, and manage stock rotation to minimize waste
  • uphold regulatory standards and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
  • step in to lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef
  • contribute to a welcoming and efficient dining experience that reflects ALG Senior's standards of excellence
