Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years restaurant experience preferred
  • 2-4 years food preparation experience preferred
  • 1 or more year management experience preferred
  • Ability to handle stress under pressure
  • Ability to lead and manage a team
  • Basic math skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Current certifications required by state and local laws
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Train new employees on kitchen procedures
  • Collaborate with restaurant leadership to create shift schedules and assignments for kitchen staff
  • Acquire, orient, train, supervise and develop kitchen staff
  • Monitor all kitchen equipment and supplies
  • Handle customer issues as they arise
  • Adjust station assignments and assist kitchen and front of house staff during absences or high volume
  • Document inventory concerns and assist with counts
  • Motivate colleagues to maintain the restaurant's standards of excellence and ensure adherence to recipes and policies
  • Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas
  • Assist chef de cuisine in managing labor and food costs and minimizing waste
  • Assist chef de cuisine in menu planning and ordering food and kitchen supplies
  • Receive and properly store kitchen orders, checking deliveries for accuracy and quality
  • Act as backup to the front of house manager as needed
