Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years experience in kitchen leadership role
  • Culinary school graduate or related training is a plus
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations including OSHA
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects under pressure
  • Demonstrated decision making and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet budgets including labor and food costs
  • Strong staff training and team building skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Fluency in English including reading and writing
  • Proficiency in computer and technology use
  • Serve Safe food handler’s certificate
  • Ability to commute and travel to various locations
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school graduate or related training preferred
  • Functional knowledge of health department and OSHA regulations
  • Strong decision-making and troubleshooting skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Serve Safe food handler’s certificate
  • Ability to train and motivate culinary staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Fluent in English language

Job Duties

  • Oversee kitchen production areas alongside the executive chef
  • Schedule, coordinate, and supervise multiple kitchen shifts
  • Manage kitchen staff and delegate responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with City Winery food culture and quality standards
  • Monitor production procedures for quality, consistency, and efficiency
  • Train kitchen staff in proper food storage, preparation, and presentation
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation, cleanliness, and safety
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute culinary elements of events
  • Manage kitchen budgeting, purchasing, and inventory
  • Lead culinary projects and initiatives to improve kitchen operations
  • Conduct kitchen staff meetings and performance evaluations
  • Enforce company policies and procedures within the kitchen
  • Train staff in safe operating procedures of kitchen equipment and utensils
