Job Requirements
- Education in culinary arts or related field
- 3 to 5 years of professional cooking experience
- Certification from an accredited culinary school preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Ability to work weekends and flexible shifts including day and night
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities
- Skilled in inventory management and kitchen staff supervision
Job Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience in commercial cooking or apprenticeship or certification from culinary school
- Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
- Understanding of financial controls related to food cost management and waste minimization
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Service orientation
- Leadership skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
Job Duties
- Execute and supervise food production activities including cleaning, cutting, marinating, seasoning, and cooking food items
- Assume responsibilities of Executive Chef during their absence including vacation and off-days, and menu presentations
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen helpers in food storage ensuring tidiness and adherence to first in first out principle
- Conduct, coordinate and supervise inventories
- Monitor material consumption and order necessary food and equipment daily
- Participate in food product and menu development for presentations
- Update catering manuals as needed and execute countermeasures in response to customer complaints
- Support kitchen helper training
- Maintain and monitor hygiene, health, and safety standards ensuring HACCP compliance
- Conduct quality control checks and ensure recipe specification adherence
- Conduct quality checks of received goods
- Ensure proper organization, staffing, and direction of area of responsibility
- Guide, motivate, and develop subordinate employees within Human Resources policies
- Promote company values and management principles within the department
- Implement and control cost budget, initiating corrective actions when needed
- Participate and support initiatives such as Global Quality Standard, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
