Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, swings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks
  • Internal candidates must have been in current position for at least six months with no active disciplinary action
  • Ability to obtain required work cards and non-gaming registrations as required by local jurisdiction

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Support the Room Chef in food quality, cost control, inventory management and training back-of-house team members
  • Participate in financial review processes including researching, responding to inquiries and reporting results
  • Document recipes, measurements, quantities, and other details to ensure consistent duplication
  • Train culinary team on recipes and monitor adherence
  • Monitor and maintain standard kitchen operating procedures
  • Provide leadership through training, mentoring, and corrective counseling of back-of-house staff
  • Assist in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new back-of-house team members
  • Schedule staff and assist with payroll activities as needed
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house management and staff
  • Lead food preparation for service ensuring prep items and recipes meet approved standards
  • Oversee kitchen line during service focusing on high volume periods
  • Manage kitchen flow and food delivery to maintain service standards
  • Prepare and coordinate daily prep sheets with Room Chef
  • Collaborate on menu creations and daily specials
  • Manage inventory and costs with Room Chef
  • Ensure proper processing and placement of requisitions
  • Monitor and receive all products to meet property standards
  • Maintain knowledge of food products and ensure proper rotation
  • Label and date products for safekeeping and sanitation
  • Use kitchen equipment, cleaning, and sanitizing products safely
  • Provide exceptional service to internal guests ensuring satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with managers, staff, vendors and guests
  • Ensure work activities are completed accurately, efficiently and timely
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain regular attendance and professionalism
  • Assist with training and mentoring new team members
  • Maintain appearance standards
  • Report irregularities to management
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Work independently or as part of a team
  • Comply with all legal and company regulations for the industry
