Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- prior Sous Chef or Lead Cook experience
- culinary training and experience
- certifications as required by Federal, State, or Local agencies
- ServSafe Certification
- proficiency in Microsoft 365 or similar computer applications
- ability to work well under stressful high pressure situations
- effective problem solving skills
- strong communication skills
- knowledge of local competition and industry trends
- ability to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards
- pre-employment background check required
Job Qualifications

- kitchen proficiency and supervisory experience
- wood burning pizza oven experience a plus
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef in meeting and exceeding the company’s budget and training kitchen staff
- hold and maintain applicable certification requirements including Food Handler, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid, ServSafe
- control food and labor costs while providing high quality menu items and maximizing guest satisfaction
- order food to maintain appropriate stock according to sales levels
- return substandard food appropriately to the supplier and receive credits
- check all deliveries for accuracy in quantities and pricing
- control waste and record discards and spoilage
- use company tools, systems, and applications without exception
- enforce staff food policy with no unauthorized food leaving the kitchen
- follow stock rotation procedures
- maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
- handle problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues
- listen, understand, clarify, and resolve concerns raised by co-workers and guests
- work with and understand financial information and data
- stay knowledgeable and aware of local competition and industry trends
- organize, direct, supervise and assist in food preparation and service based on standardized recipes
- ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and storage areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio
- plan meals and service while guiding kitchen staff with assignments such as pricing and banquets
- provide oversight of kitchen staff, outlets, banquet food, display merchandising, and departmental operations
