Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years management experience as a Restaurant Chef, Executive Sous Chef, or Executive Chef
  • certification in Food Safety/Manager
  • strong customer and client focus
  • expertise in food product, presentation, quality, and preparation
  • knowledge of menu concept and design
  • ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and procedure documents
  • strong math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, rate, ratio, and percent calculations
  • excellent problem-solving skills with ability to handle diverse situations

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and culinary responsibilities
  • cooperate with Executive Chef in culinary leadership
  • supervise kitchen staff and train personnel
  • maintain food quality and presentation standards
  • manage inventory, purchasing, and receiving
  • enforce health and hygiene standards
  • resolve kitchen problems promptly
  • recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate staff
  • build staff development and apprenticeship programs
  • coordinate with front of house management on service issues
  • participate in service education such as pre-shift briefings and menu meetings
  • maintain food and labor costs within budget
  • ensure kitchen cleanliness and manage cleaning schedules
  • foster positive work environment and uphold company culture
  • carry out supervisory responsibilities including disciplinary actions
