Job Requirements

  • Certificate from an accredited culinary school, college, or technical school
  • minimum 3 years of hands-on culinary experience
  • at least 1 year of kitchen or culinary supervisory experience
  • valid certification in food handling and safety sanitation or willingness to obtain
  • four years of banquet culinary experience
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to meet budgetary goals
  • excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • proficiency with computer applications including Excel
  • compliance with local Health Department codes
  • creativity in food presentation

Job Qualifications

  • Certificate from an accredited culinary school, college, or technical school
  • 3 or more years of hands-on experience
  • 1 or more years of kitchen/culinary supervisory experience
  • current certification in food handling and safety sanitation (Sani-Serve or similar) or ability to be certified
  • at least four years of culinary experience in a banquet facility producing meals for large events
  • advanced oral and written communication skills
  • strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members
  • results-oriented individual able to meet required budgetary goals
  • excellent organizational, planning, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks
  • computer skills, including Excel
  • must adhere to local Health Department codes
  • ability to be creative with food presentations and maintain a high-quality product

Job Duties

  • Responsible for preparing and cooking foods to ensure high-quality, efficient, and profitable food service
  • assists in ordering, receiving, and preparing food items
  • assists maintaining food costs and budget goals
  • produces required product according to banquet event orders for each event
  • ensures all kitchen equipment cleanliness and annual maintenance
  • helps maintain a Health Department score of 90 or higher
  • assists with monthly inventory
  • executes kitchen product inventory controls
  • maintains an active role in the local hospitality community and professional associations
  • other duties as assigned
