Job Requirements
- 3 years sous chef or comparable experience in full-service and high-volume restaurant
- Strong communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Experience with back office and POS systems
- Advanced organizational skills
- ServSafe certified
- Ability to work nights and weekends
- Ability to work 12 plus hour shifts
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Maintain professional and polished appearance
- Ability to manage a team of up to 75 people
- Ability to communicate clearly to all levels of organization
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Prioritize projects and solicit direction when necessary
Job Qualifications
- 3 years sous chef or comparable experience in a full-service and high-volume restaurant
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience with back office and POS systems such as Restaurant 365, Hot Schedules, Micros
- Advanced organizational skills
- Bilingual is a plus
- Culinary Arts Degree is a plus including associates, bachelors, or certificates
- ServSafe certified
- Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Coordinates, leads, and directs Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Utility Team Members
- Trains and validates all new cooks, provides ongoing training and coaching to existing cooks
- Partners with Executive Chef, GM, FOH Managers on training and educating all team members
- Ensures 100% recipe adherence by all team members
- Holds team accountability to policies and procedures set forth by American Social
- Implements and enforces strict standards for safety, sanitation, and overall kitchen organization
- Leads the implementation of HACCP plan and ensures compliance by all team members
- Maintains clear communication with Executive Chef, GM, and Corporate Chef
- Assists Executive Chef in managing food cost to meet goals
- Controls costs and manages culinary back office accounting and scheduling systems
- Performs food inventories and communicates cost issues
- Conducts line and quality checks to ensure food and kitchen quality
- Enforces proper image and appearance guidelines including hygiene
