Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or related work experience
  • Ability to train and develop large groups of employees
  • Experience managing active kitchens
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented
  • Tactful and diplomatic communication
  • Ability to multitask and monitor recipe development
  • Proficient in computer use for information input
  • Ability to take direction and relay information
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments (30° - 70°)

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or related work experience
  • American Culinary Federation chef certification preferred
  • 1-3 years experience in commissary kitchen and high-volume food preparation
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications
  • Effective communication skills in English
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Train, coach, and develop hourly kitchen staff
  • Maintain kitchen security and upkeep including equipment, food, and supply inventories
  • Plan and implement energy conservation procedures in the kitchen
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal health and safety codes
  • Maintain food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance standards
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive operational results
  • Continuously improve processes and collaborate with other departments to execute plant-wide initiatives
  • Manage departmental performance measures and provide regular progress reports
  • Handle departmental priorities as situations arise
  • Perform accident investigations and notify management as necessary
