Job Requirements
- Three to five years proven experience as a cook or one plus years as a Sous Chef
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods such as grilling, baking, boiling, equipment and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and colleagues
- High school diploma or GED required, training from a culinary school preferred
- Ability to speak, read and write English
- Must be willing to undergo a routine background check

Job Duties
- Work with the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Services to produce diversified menus in accordance with the Community's policy and vision
- Establish the work schedule and organize work in the kitchen so that all tasks are accomplished efficiently and with excellence
- Produce high quality dishes that follow the established menu and standards
- Train the kitchen staff to achieve the best for the nutrition and enjoyment of our residents
- Prepare or assist in preparation of complete meals including soups, meats, gravies, vegetables, desserts, salads, baked goods in accordance with menus and recipes
- Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
