Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of cooking experience in a professional kitchen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree or formal apprenticeship preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Polished appearance and demeanor
  • Ability to comprehend and apply company and department rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
  • Commitment to quality service
  • Highly motivated and energetic personality with strong commitment to hospitality excellence
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Successful background check and drug test clearance prior to hire
  • Valid work authorization for the US
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Ensure all stations are set up according to standards and maintained throughout the shift with 100% accuracy
  • Oversee the production of all menu items and recipes and step in to assist as necessary to ensure the proper outcome
  • Actively engage in antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings and engaging in conversations around equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction
  • Hold all line level cooks accountable for following guidelines, policies and procedures and issue counseling as necessary
  • Responsible for ordering/receiving, stocking and rotation of all kitchen products while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Routinely check and inspect all kitchen equipment, refrigeration and related equipment to ensure all are in working order and communicate as necessary to report issues
  • Assist in menu development and participate actively as a member of the management team
  • Create and administer schedules, production and prep lists for all requirements
  • Effectively write and cost out individual recipes with 100% accuracy
  • Continuously control product waste and maintain proper par levels of all kitchen items
  • Assist in overall labor control and adjust to business volume to control labor costs
  • Continuously train and instruct cooks on proper food preparation and sanitation to ensure quality standards
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques, recipes, and equipment to kitchen staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • All duties are performed in accordance with departmental and company policies and procedures
