Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary arts degree or certification or a minimum of five years culinary experience at the sous chef level or equivalent
  • previous experience in a culinary leadership role preferably in healthcare senior living or hospitality
  • strong knowledge of food safety sanitation guidelines and dietary restrictions
  • excellent leadership and communication skills
  • ability to follow recipes and manage time efficiently
  • compliance with covid-19 vaccination policies
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand sit bend and walk for extended periods
  • ability to work around food and cleaning products
  • current servsafe or food handler certification as required by state or county law
  • residency within the service area

Job Qualifications

  • must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds stand sit bend and walk for extended periods
  • must be able to work around food and cleaning products
  • current servsafe or food handler certification is required based on state / county law
  • residency within the service area is required

Job Duties

  • assist in preparing meals ensuring high standards of taste presentation and quality
  • oversee kitchen staff to ensure proper food safety and sanitation practices are followed
  • assist in menu planning and recipe creation keeping resident preferences and dietary needs in mind
  • monitor inventory food costs and waste to maximize efficiency
  • train and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and service
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas and equipment
  • ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food preparation and service
  • communicate effectively with dining staff residents and management to provide an excellent dining experience
  • perform other duties as assigned
